Zito

Fin Ch Zito vom Landsberg

Zito vom Landsberg was imported to Finland 2007. He is born 23.3.2007 and bred by Mrs Bärbel and Mr H. Jochen Volkman in Germany. His father is Ch Ayrzol Ghia and the mother is Ch Danskots Dinette. His pedigree goes back to beautiful Danskots scottish terriers. If you go a bit further with your research of Zito´s ancestors some italian, english, american, german and of course danish names will be found. So it can well be said that he is a result of true international co work.

Zito is owned by Mrs Annika and Mr Esko Kammonen. His outgoing and fun temperament was immediately discovered when he arrived from Germany. He truly loves his family and new friends are always welcome. His best "doggy" pals are of course female chihuahua Muru (Biscuits Sugababe) and scottie male Pucci (Ch Raijaj Puccini). Muru is bred and owned by Annika. Pucci ist the first scottie of Kammonen family.

It has been really fun to follow Zito´s life from his puppyhood until today. A lot has happened. He has always been very open minded as it comes to anything new. It was really easy introduce him to any grooming, trimming and any treatment routines needed, when he was puppy. As we have prepared and groomed Zito for shows together with Annika I have been happy to make that observation.

Zito´s first show and some results

Zito's first show was really inspiring momentum for him. He was so excited to see whole the show scene. Meeting new people and dogs was a absolute thrill. In the ring he had full speed on and nobody could blame him being a lazy with his ring manners. Zito was then at the Turku Int. Show 2008 in junior class and judged by Mr. Barry Day from UK. We were really happy to see him winning his class and in the end the best of breed. Zito absolutely loved his first day at a show and Annika did remarkable job with getting the best possible out of handling him. One could easily say that Zito had truly flying start at shows. We are happy that he has not lost the sparkle in his eyes when he is in a show ring.

Zito´s looks and flashy showmanship has brought him to be one of the most winning scotties and terriers at the moment in Finland. He has won 11 BOBs, 3 Group 3rds, 2 group firsts and BIS 2. These results are mostly from this year and int. all breeds dog shows. Zito achieved his Fin title last May at the Lahti Int Show judged by Carl-Gunnar Stafberg.

Hans Lehtinen and Peter Green have judged Zito

Two very remarkable occasions from Zito´s show career are BOB win under all rounder and terrier specialist Mr Hans Lehtinen (Finland) and group first placing by the legendary Mr Peter Green from USA. These two gentlemen are the most talented and experienced terrier judges one can think of. Here Hans Lehtinen´s encouraging words in his judging report about Zito:

" Kaunis kokonaisuus, Ryhdikäs, lyhyt ja tiivis uros. Erinomaiset ääriviivat. Liikkeet ok. Erinomaisessa kunnossa."

"Beautiful general impression. Compact, short male, who carries himself well. Moves ok. In good condition."

Zitos puppies

Zito has already been succesfully used for breeding three times. I was happy too see my Zito puppies to be born 6.6.2008 (4 males- 3 females). The litter is registered with names starting with letter U. Also Nea Jäger (kennel Gilmoore´s) has bred three puppies (1 male - 2 bitches, born 12.2009) by Zito out of her Ch Gilmoore´s Twinkleinyouri. Heidi Kainulainen (kennel Flippix) used Zito for her Flippix Glam Rock Baby (2 males, born 14.10.2009). I am sure we will hear from Zito´s last two litters later.

6 out of 7 Bartos U litter puppies have been shown. All of them have achieved excellents. 5 of them have gained CCs or res CCs. Three of Bartos U litter have been placed in groups and been BOB winners. The results of these youngsters have been really satisfying since they have been shown only in junior and intermediate classes. It will be highly interesting to receive the news of Zito´s progeny in future. And the best of luck to Nea and Heidi with their Zito´s puppies!

I am sure alongside Annika, Esko and the undersigned a number of people would like to thank Mrs and Mr Volkman for letting us to have Zito here in Finland!
